Welcome to the Official "Gem Magazine LI Beauty Forum"!

Hello to all my Long Island beauties out there!

It comes with great excitement that publisher Tanya Lee and myself, Matthew Ambrosio - LI Beauty Educator present an interactive beauty forum for all Gem Magazine readers.  Here I will share with you my passion for feeling great and enhancing your natural beauty.  You are the reason I am here and the reason we have brought you this forum and I thank you all on behalf of GEM Magazine.  Together we will discuss various beauty topics, present questions and comments to be addressed and share together as a community, a community of "beauties" that is.

Interaction with you is my greatest asset.  The topics of choice range from beauty regimes to tips to valuable and noteworthy information about the cosmetics we all use today.  So let us play and feel comfortable to express ourselves.

For my first official Gem Beauty Blog I ask you to share with me pertinent topics which you would like to share and know more about.  You can do so by posting a comment below.  I look forward to hearing from you and again welcome!

With love,

Matthew Ambrosio

  1. Matt congrats on the Blog! here is a problem I think a lot of women have, what is my skin tone? Am I warm, cool or neutral? how can I tell? also what color makeup, eyeshadow, blush and lipstick compliments my tone?

  2. Excellent question LOCODe SIGNS, love the name.

A major reason as to why women do not wear makeup is because they cannot find the right tone to match their skin. Women of color have an even more difficult time.

I am glad that you used the word neutral. That is a term us pro's tend to use, you may also here some people say Beige which I think is more "marketing" oriented. The issue I think is that most cosmetic consumers don't take to mind something very important. If you are nuetral, then that means you have two colors in the skin. If you have two colors in your skin then you need two colors in your makeup. Otherwise you will appear either Ashy or Muddy and most likely you will have a line at the jaw. So where do you get these foundations with neutral tones and ready to apply? I can name quite a few and I am sorry they will not be from a drug store but you will not be spending lots of money either.
